Having experienced the taste of life outside it is hard for her to fit back into the smallness of her town. She becomes the new owner of The BEAUTY - the best hair salon in town. The high school has decided to stage a production of MacB- "The Scottish Play". Of course, Tracy does not believe in the superstition about the name of the play. Even after strange events start happening all over town. First, the fuses blow at the BEAUTY, then Ashley has trouble with one of her lines. Dawn gets sick, and dogs start chasing things that are not even there. It looks like the show is going to have to be canceled when Mrs. Shorter rises to save the day. Tracy has a date! Paul is taking her to the hardware store to get her help with navigating the store. After their date, Tracy wants to introduce him to her father, Mr. Danvers, but he is not in his room! Mr. Danvers is always in his room. Now Tracy and Paul have to search the town for him. They run into Jed who is not quite ok with Tracy dating Paul. They have no luck until Tracy promises a "favor" to Mrs. Kinders that they finally find out where he is. It was just another normal day at the BEAUTY, but then... a stranger, someone new, but not just a someone, a new man. Paul, a new arrival to Dandee sets up shop right across from the BEAUTY, much to the delight of the women in town. When Jed brings the handsome stranger into the BEAUTY the women are shocked to discover the very unusual product he sells. He has a challenge in front of him with the town's people and getting them to accept him as an outsider and his wares.

Against every fiber of her being, Tracy has to return to the small town she grew up in for her mother's funeral. In typical Tracy fashion she arrives late. Her father is there but her deadbeat brother has already skipped town. So it's up to Tracy to deliver her mother's eulogy, something that's difficult for her to do with her...condition. The next day, Tracy stops by the BEAUTY, the best salon in town, to say hi to Dawn the owner. There she runs into Mrs. Kinders, Mrs. Shorter, and Mrs. Tallwood who hold court each day in the BEAUTY, and have quite a bit of influence in the town. Tracy needs work and Dawn offers for her to work at the BEAUTY while she's in town, a prospect that Mrs. Kinders doesn't approve of. Now Tracy needs to learn how to adapt back to life in a small town.
